Inorganic Vs Organic Chemistry: What is the difference? | Organic Lifestyle

Choose only Organic! Bananas! Anyone who tells you that is selling you something and it may not be good for you!

When looking through various products, some may contain all the right ingredients, cause minimal harm and still the product may not be deemed certifiable under organic standards. One such product is Salt. Table salt or Sea Salt, otherwise known as Sodium Chloride, is known scientifically as an inorganic compound. But how could this be? It’s naturally occurring and we all need salt to remain fit and healthy but not too much of course or you will affect internal homeostasis and function. This also questions the fallacy behind “Organic Salt”?! Can salt be organic if it is chemically inorganic?

DEFINITION: The main difference between organic and inorganic matter is organic compounds contain carbon and carbon-hydrogen bonds, while most inorganic compounds do not contain carbon.

Just because it is a necessity or naturally occurring doesn’t make it organic. The same could be said about essential and non-essential amino acids but that is another discussion altogether and one that is dependent on who is telling the story and what stake they have in saying that their products are essential amino acids despite not being produced by the body.

The argument between healthy and unhealthy is purely down to perspective.

Some ‘organic’ salts include Organophosphates ,which, the old “Glyphosate” weed spray is a part of, and other such as “Salts of Cocaine”. Now to clarify, choosing an organic lifestyle is purely a perspective; and one that certification certainly helps to define albeit it shouldn’t be the case that it is only certified organic. We are also not supporters of you choosing to absorb ‘salts of cocaine’ based on the fact that these are “organic” salts! And we all know about Glyphosate!

Also, keep in mind that certified organics generally only applies to manufacturing standards and how clean that product has been processed/ packaged. This means that you can still have Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) plant material in certified organic products… This also extends to meat, dairy, bio-dynamically grown, grain fed vs grass fed, etc….

So when asked, “Do you support buying certified organic?”, I say “yes, but check your label and the reputation of your manufacturer”…

  • Be healthy and make healthy decisions.
  • Don’t be influenced without doing your research and the ever evasive Organic Lifestyle can be obtained!
  • If the label isn’t clear, don’t buy the product.
  • If the label doesn’t mention ingredients, it is for a reason!
  • Check who has certified the product and who owns that company- you may be surprised how the Organic Certification is being misused and misrepresented!
  • Choose food and products based on the ability of the body being able to digest and flush itself quickly and efficiently; leaving minimal wastage. By choosing products that linger and have a residual effect, you will inevitably be choosing a diet which is only going to land you in the Hospital.
  • Don’t have too many banana’s either!
